2013 Pugsley

2013 Pugsley

Pugsley 2013 Atlas Peak, Napa Valley

Named after our demanding and mischievous rescue pug, Malbec; this wine is lovingly crafted from our Syrah vines, which thrive in our rocky volcanic soil.

Pugsley shows deep, inky dark red color with a purplish hue.

The nose of this wine is packed with lush, fleshy black fruit characteristics with black pepper, olive and hints of sweet oak notes.

A lovely wine with fleshy, ripe fruit flavors that carry through the mid-palate; it is medium to full bodied with a silky texture leading to a long finish.

In deference to our sweet girl, we have blended in just enough of our estate grown Merlot to give this wine the characteristic spice and spunk of its namesake.

Opaque black violet color. Delicate, roasted aromas of roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate drizzled on berries, and moss and leaves with a supple, lively, dry-yet-fruity medium body and a warming, complex, medium-long coffee grounds, parchment, marinated mushroom, and cedar dust finish with dusty, grippy tannins and moderate oak. A dry, earthy syrah for the table.

Pugsley Wine Information

Pugsley is our signature Atlas Peak Syrah.

Both the 2013 & 2014 vintages are crafted from grapes grown on our estate on Atlas Peak.

Syrah from Atlas Peak is particularly evocative of the rocky volcanic soil, which predominates our vineyards.

As such, it has a pleasing minerality; coupled with luscious fruit characteristics of blackberry and blueberry.

Named after our mischievous rescue Pug, Malbec, this wine is one of a kind and full of spice and spunk.
