    Christopher Sawyer, renowned wine writer, private sommelier and competition judge, served as one of the 24 evaluators at the Ninth Annual American Fine Wine competition.  In summarizing his notes from the competition, Christopher called out our 2013 Lagniappe Peak Pere as one of his four favorite cabernet sauvignon entries.

  • Double Gold Medal - 2017 - American Fine Wine Competition - 1-16-17

    Our 2013 Pere Cabernet Sauvignon took a Double Gold Medal for the second year in a row!  Over 800 wines entered in the event.. Pere was judged to be one of the top seven Red Bordeaux Style Blends in the competition.

     

  • Top 20 Wine - Oakland Wine Festival - July 2016
     
    Final results for the Oakland Wine Festival have been released; Lagniappe Peak Vineyards wines were highly rated; especially by the wine professional participants.  Winemakers, sommeliers, trade and media cast over 500 votes in the competition; and chose their top 20 wines.  Our 2013 Pere Cabernet Sauvignon was rated #18 out of the 129 wines entered in the competition.

  • Silver Medal - World Wine Championships - 12/01/15

     Nearly opaque black garnet color. Delicate, fruity, smoky dusty aromas of chocolate, waxy honeycomb, and chocolate nuts with a creamy, bright, dryish medium-to-full body and a warming, complex, medium-long baked berries, cedar, and peppery spices finish with firm, woody tannins and heavy oak. A brooding, powerful, very oaky cabernet that needs a few years of cellaring.
